The
City's sewer system extends from the Bridge of the Gods on the
west edge of town, east to the Port Industrial Park at the east
end of town on Forest Lane.
The
Treatment Plant is located on Herman Creek Lane just off of
Forest Lane near the river. A new sewer plant was completed
in October 1998 with sufficient capacity to allow both residential
and industrial growth for years to come. Currently the sewer
rate for residental users is $42.50 for water usuage up to 10,000
gallons.
Usage
over 10,000 is $7.45 per thousand gallons used. A reduced rate,
one-half the monthly fee, is available for low-income senior
citizens, 65 years of age or older. Application forms for this
discount are based on annual income as well as age. They are
available at City Hall and must be renewed each year in June.
Customers
who are developing property for new residential use will pay
an installation fee which must be paid prior to the work being
started. The City's Public Works Superintendent is available
to discuss your project.
