The
City's cable TV system (CATV) passes 437 homes in Cascade Locks,
from the Charburger on the west, out to the Herman Creek Lane
intersection on Forest Lane.
There is a per-trip connect fee for cable ($35.00), although
a $10.00 discount is allowed if the CATV connect is done at
the same time as the electrical set up. Adding any premium stations
at a later date to existing services is also subject to the
per-trip rate ($35.00).
Basic service is provided at a flat rate of $22.50 per month.
A Senior Citizen discount
(-$1.50) for anyone 62 years of age or older is available and
the application window is opened each June. Basic Service includes
the following channels:
The Tier II stations (17-35) and the Disney Channel are part
of Basic Service and most newer model TV sets are "cable
ready" and can receive them. If your TV is not capable
of picking them up, a newer model VCR can usually be programmed
to received them.

In
addition to Basic Service, the cable system also offers Home
Box Office (HBO) on Ch.5. An extra charge of $8.75 per month
is assessed if you choose to receive HBO.
The local origination channel (23) serves as a primary source
of information for local events such as meetings, birthdays,
garage sales or miscellaneous personal sale ads, commercial
ads and other special announcements that need to be projected
City-wide.
Each screen has eight lines, with 35 spaces per line. The City
reserves the right to edit or refuse any ads for Channel 23
and personal, commercial and political ads must be paid for before
