The
City of Cascade Locks operates a municipally owned electrical
system (City Light) that serves not only the City proper,
but also east to the Wyeth bench and west to just past the
Bridal Veil area. The City's system was the first electrical
customer of Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) after
Bonneville dam was completed in 1937. As a BPA "Full
Requirements Preference Customer", the City can provide
additional power from BPA to serve residential, commercial
and industrial growth as needed.
Winter storms and heavy ice and snow can cause electrical
outages. City Hall is open Monday through Friday, from 8:00
AM to 5:00 PM (except Holidays), and any problems experienced
during those times should be reported directly to City Hall
at 374-8484.
However, if emergencies or outages occur when City Hall
is closed, please call the City Light After Hours Number
at 374-8911. You will reach an automated paging service.
Please give your name, address, phone number, and then briefly
state the problem. Standby personnel are automatically paged
out, and will call in to receive your message as soon as
possible. Note: This number is to be used
outside regular business hours and for electrical
problems ONLY.
